We look forward to hearing about your fantastic adventure.

Well, the real heroes are those who rides in the tail of the pack:
Not enough experience to ride with WOT on their refelexes in all kinds of terrain,
They will arrive after dark: Must carry a rucksack for their warm clothing instead of giving that away after sunrise.
Last starters, not being able to stay in front of the cars and trucks, have to go off the "road" every time, accepting a dust douche and dust tail.
After arrival, they have to work several hours on their bikes and they get serious sleep deprivation, while their tortured muscles are screaming for relief.
You are a real hero Peter,
Glad you are still in one piece. Welcome home gladiator.

Pete Mate In my books you had won the race when you stood on the starting ramp. I have a message that reads .It is better to have tried and missed than to have never tried at all.You are a legend.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Pete. At least you gave it your best shot and I'm sure all of us Aussies are proud of your accomplishment. It's good to see an Aussie Battler have a go.

Pete,

Don't you dare, for the tiniest bit of a second, ever consider your performance anything other than an amazing accomplishment. That's how I see it.

I look forward to the near future when you'™re in the loving arms of your wife and the comfort of your home, and have the time to tell us all a little of your grueling adventure. Thanks for giving us lesser folks the chance to ride with you vicariously.

Capt. Pete

PS - I did notice from the standings that you dusted some guy named Henrik pretty bad. ;-}

Dear Peter,
Very wise mate. As you are aware,I know what a buggered back is like and if you can avoid it becoming worse, do so.
Very proud of you son as I know you gave it your best shot, as you have always done. Love, Dad.,

Pete - You had a dream, you went for it and got there. You got from Europe and way into Africa - made it through 4 1/2 stages of the Dakar Rally, the toughest race on Earth.
You're The Man in my book.
